Honestly: if you create PDFs from scratch, design advanced forms, or run e-signature workflows, Acrobat or a paid specialist app remains the right tool. Fubako doesn't chase that. It completes the "I just received a PDF and need to do something to it" range — free and local.

- Do you know who makes it? — company name, location, accountability
- Can they explain why it's free? — "completely free" with an unclear revenue source is itself a risk
- Can you verify the claims? — is "we don't upload" a promise, or a structure the OS enforces?
Fubako's answers: developed by ATI Inc., a software development company in Japan. It's free because it's a demonstration of engineering capability, not a revenue product. It's signed and notarized as a sandboxed app with no network entitlements — "zero network" is verifiable by anyone with codesign -d --entitlements. It ships after external security review.

I don't even want Acrobat Reader — can Fubako view PDFs?
Yes. Fubako works as a PDF viewer with a page sidebar, in-document search (⌘F), and printing (⌘P).
Is there a Windows version?
Not yet — Fubako is macOS-first. Windows and iPad/iPhone versions are planned (no dates promised), with the same fully-local design.
Is it really free forever?
Yes — everything Fubako does today stays free. We may offer paid business features in the future (such as high-volume batch processing), but features that are free now will never be paywalled later.
